Lady Gaga Has Ruined Music Videos
…by making everyone else look shit.
I have a serious problem and it is all Lady Gaga’s fault. ‘Telephone’, with BeyoncĂ©, has ruined everything for me. You see, ‘Telephone’ was the kind of video that stands tall with some of the greatest of all time, but what this means is that whenever I see a new video, by Lady Gaga or by any other modern artist, I always end up comparing it unfavourably to that masterpiece. ‘Till The World Ends’? Great but no ‘Telephone’. ‘All The Lovers’? Great but no ‘Telephone’. ‘Judas’? Great but no ‘Telephone’.
‘Judas’ is my favourite Gaga video in, well, two videos, but it seems like ‘Telephone’ (how many times can I say that title – I think I’m going for the world record) was about ten years ago and ‘Alejandro’/'Born This Way’ – GOOD AS THEY WERE – just didn’t do it for me, videowise. I can see myself watching ‘Judas’ more than once or twice, which is always a good thing, and I’m glad to see that things are a lot more interesting, in regards to concept and execution, this time around. She also looks amazing. The song is also still one of her best ever. I also like spotting her regular dancers (such as “Lettuce Head” – you know who I’m talking about – from ‘Telephone’).
Plus I like this biker thing she’s doing because it reminds me of Cher in Mask.
Cher in Mask. What more could you want in a human being?
